QFF 2020-11-27
Posted on Nov 27th, 2020

From the preservation of the shrimping and maritime industry to The Blessing of the Fleet, Capt. Wayne was a personification of his family’s multi-generational dedication to the history of Mount Pleasant and the health and conservation of our waterways. Again, as his daughter writes, “Captain Wayne Magwood leaves a legacy of historical importance to this town and community and has forever written himself into the fabric of lowcountry maritime heritage”.

Capt. Magwood will be awarded the Cresco Historical Stewardship Award posthumously at the Town Council meeting December 8, 2020.
